Unfortunately a few mapping armchair people have it in their head that there is a road that leads to the base of the pier – there isn't it's a 12 foot drop from the picnic table. Other's, probably the same person thinks you can walk on it – no path on it. The pier is a listed building you can't get onto it, you just view it from the picnic spot or buy something in the Jolly Sailor and enjoy the view.

The road is pretty dangerous round there since the main road still takes you to what was the ferry point so you'd end in the water if taking it fast. Council haven't sorted out the junction at the top to give right of way to threw traffic possibly preserving the history of Burton Ferry (with no public access to the pier – was a Trinity House service point for lighthouse vessels).

    Hi Terry
This seems to an interesting old location. Ive endorsed your edits here and for your other recent posts youve made as well.

    Thanks for your contributions!
